Lay Of The Land

from A 4 Letter Word by The Shop Window

/
  • Record/Vinyl + Digital Album

'A 4 Letter Word' is the second album by The Shop Window, following their debut album 'The State Of Being Human'.
Keen to strike while the iron was hot, the band were back to recording as soon as the bag of new tunes were rehearsed. The new album captures the buzz from a short but productive flurry of writing focused on love and friendship. Across the ten tracks the band have grown in confidence - the jangly guitars and vocal harmonies are ever present, but with renewed vigour all round.

Label mate Beth Arzy from Jetstream Pony and The Luxembourg Signal added backing vocals to four of the tracks (Eyes Wide Shut, Dancing Light, Circles Go Round & Low).

Recorded at Raffer Studios in Kent, produced by Callum Rafferty.

lyrics

Time will take its toll
Down the rabbit hole
Find out..
Questions remain unasked
In so many parts
The answers..

All the while there's stars above
I won't fall out with love
Its the meaning of life
It’s just the lay of the land
Future shaped in our hands
It’s the meaning of life

Wisdoms a beauty alone
To many still unknown
Find out..
The magpies that steal away
Love surrounding the day
The answers..

All the while there's stars above
I won't fall out with love
Its the meaning of life
It’s just the lay of the land
Future shaped in our hands
It’s the meaning of life
